Amid sunshine, laughs and drinks, more than 150 of Melbourne’s creative community gathered for AWARD’s inaugural Twilight Talks event in Melbourne last night to hear some words of wisdom from guest speaker Robbie Brammall, Director of Marketing & Communications, Mona.

Brammall, an ex-ad industry veteran who went client side five years ago to help shape David Walsh’s artful sex and death museum, entertained the crowd with unexpected lessons he has learned about business and marketing in his time at the iconic Hobart attraction.

He also drew back the curtains to reveal the role risk-taking plays in Mona's creative success as part of his keynote “My Boss f**cking hates advertising and now I make dildos for a living.’

“Robbie is a precise mischief-maker and risk-taker when it comes to marketing, and hearing him relay the ins and outs of what he and Mona owner David Walsh term the asymmetric upside of risk in creativity was hilarious and inspiring,” said AWARD Chair Cam Blackley.

“It was great to be able to bring the creative community together at the official kick off of THIS WAY UP by Award. Robbie definitely set a high benchmark for future inspiration sessions,” he said.

AWARD’s inaugural Twilight Talks event took place in Melbourne’s Greenfields at Albert Park as part of This Way Up: Melbourne’s Advertising Festival of Creativity - two days of educational courses, talks and networking events that celebrate the very best in creative thinking in Australia.
